Segment Intending

“The Law of Attraction” by Esther and Jerry Hicks

While this book reads very similarly to Rhonda Burne’s “The Secret” which came out at about the same time, there are some important differences. There is a very powerful ingredient in the Hick’s book I want to share called Segment Intending. Your day is made up of a number of “segments” so before each one starts, stop to think about what you want. About to hop into the car to drive to work – this is a “segment” so intend to get there safely and quickly. Now at work – another “segment” is the beginning of your day until your first break – what do you want to accomplish and how do you want it to go. This really helps you focus on what it most important to you at the moment and keeps you on track. And it can help you not get overwhelmed by all the big intentions you have. I have found it very helpful although I still get caught up in the busy-ness of work and forget to intend anything often!

Predict the future?

Believe you can "see" the future? Seth, via Jane Roberts, talks about future events "shadowing" or conversely "illuminating" the past (our present). I'm also reading this in "The Power of Premonitions" by Larry Dossey. It's a bit stuffy but interesting nonetheless. This book mentions a website I will include here - you can test and maybe hone your predictions skills!  http://www.gotpsi.org/   James Arthur Ray also discusses "future pull" where your future self can receive your thoughts and feelings now if you are in alignment; and if you are, you manifest that future self.

Note to self - keep working on it!

12 ways the law of attraction can improve your life

Article sounds a lot like The Secret to me. http://www.businessinsider.com/how-the-law-of-attraction-will-improve-your-life-2012-7?op=1 They are promoting a new book. Anyone familiar with Esther and Jerry Hicks? I might have heard Joe Vitale mention them.

Getting What You Want

I want to share this from Jack Canfield in "The Secret." I was listening to the CD on the way to work and this really struck me; page 92 for those with the book. I changed the formatting for emphasis.

  • Decide what you want.
  • Believe you can have it. Believe you deserve it and believe it's possible for you.
  • And then close your eyes every day for several minutes and visualize having what you already want, feeling the feelings of already having it.
  • Come out of that and focus on what you're grateful for already and really enjoy it.
  • Then go into your day and release it to the Universe and trust that the Universe will figure out how to manifest it.
What a powerful way to begin each day!

Lavinia recently gave me some advise and it's appropriate to share here: "be very clear about what you want to manifest." Think about getting what you want by a certain date and, if it's money, be clear about the amount.

The Present is Your Point of Power

This information comes from "The Magical Approach" by Jane Roberts, p.57.

Here's a 5-minute exercise (paraphrased) that can help manifest:

  • Sit quietly and look around; become aware of the present as your point of power.
  • Realize our past beliefs may not serve us.
  • We can insert new creative goals into our minds. Think of a new goal or belief for yourself.
  • Relax. Let the new suggestion or idea sink in. Maybe picture yourself with it already done.
  • Now take a simple action or step towards your new goal, however small this step is. Do something that is in line with your new goal.

Repeat this exercise as needed.

Money Magic Works!

Background: My partner and I have been practicing positive thinking/prosperity for a year now. Currently we are reading and doing the exercises in "The Magic" by Rhonda Byrne. This is all about GRATITUDE. During our daily meditation, we often give thanks for "checks in the mail" -- in other words, receiving money (in any form) in the mail. This hasn't happened in a big way for us, but we're grateful for anything we get -- good coupons, a bill that's less than we expect, etc.

The Story: We needed to pay a deposit of $2500 (for an egg donor for IVF). Although we could take this money from savings, we also trust in the TIMING of the Universe. Timing is everything -- but it's also something we cannot control.

As it just so happens, we're getting our annual bonuses (which are not guaranteed, but we are getting them this year) -- which will be paid to us this Friday. The combined amount should be close to $2500. Perfect! we said. And just in time for that expense (though originally we'd hoped to use the bonus money for something else).

I had an appointment at the clinic on Tuesday (yesterday), so I decided I would move the money from savings so we could go ahead and get the ball rolling, rather than waiting until Fri. I figured, we'll just reimburse ourselves with the bonuses.

And guess what we got in the mail on Monday? An unexpected check for $1,901!!! We were completely floored, and SO grateful. (The check was because we just refinanced our house -- but we had NO idea it was coming.)  Plus we got a statement from my insurance that instead of paying $350 like we expected, we'll only have to pay a $20 copay.

Talk about timing!! The day before we needed the money, it came in the mail.

Have FAITH!!

Don't Worry...

Have you ever worried about something and when it finally came to pass, said to yourself "If I'd known it was going to be this easy, I wouldn't have worried so much about it!" I sure have. Take a hint, don't worry about things NOW. Somehow it will work out for you so why worry? Trust in God, the Universe, the Creator, or whatever you want to call it. Worrying only attracts more negatives into your life. Decide what you want, Trust, let go and enjoy your life!

Trust and Acceptance

Deepok Chopra Meditation

Your Happiness

Your happiness does not depend on your job, things working out, where you live, relationships, etc. It comes from an inner connection to God/Creator/Universal Mind/Higher Self; to your connection with something beyond what we can see. To delve more into this, sign up for the Chopra Center's 8-week Happiness course http://www.chopra.com/8wph-signup or sign up for their free 21-day mediation challenges when they come up.
