Segment Intending

“The Law of Attraction” by Esther and Jerry Hicks

While this book reads very similarly to Rhonda Burne’s “The Secret” which came out at about the same time, there are some important differences. There is a very powerful ingredient in the Hick’s book I want to share called Segment Intending. Your day is made up of a number of “segments” so before each one starts, stop to think about what you want. About to hop into the car to drive to work – this is a “segment” so intend to get there safely and quickly. Now at work – another “segment” is the beginning of your day until your first break – what do you want to accomplish and how do you want it to go. This really helps you focus on what it most important to you at the moment and keeps you on track. And it can help you not get overwhelmed by all the big intentions you have. I have found it very helpful although I still get caught up in the busy-ness of work and forget to intend anything often!

  1. I like it! Definitely a good idea to break things (including your day) into smaller pieces. Makes life much easier to deal with!
